Default Setup Checklist

Use this checklist after creating your account.

Main Computer

  1. Sign in to NuQloud in Chrome, Brave, or another Chromium-based browser.
  2. Open the Dashboard.
  3. Use the Install NuQloud App button to install the PWA.
  4. Pin the NuQloud app to your taskbar, dock, or launcher.
  5. Install the compatible desktop Files client for automatic local folder sync or native desktop notifications for calls and NuQloud activity.

Account Safety

  1. Create or attach your decentralized account if prompted.
  2. Save your backup/auth file.
  3. Store a copy somewhere safe.
  4. Enable managed recovery if your provider offers it and you want provider-assisted recovery.
  5. Review app approval settings in your NuQloud account settings.

Files

  1. Create folders for common work areas such as Documents, Photos, Projects, and Shared.
  2. Move or upload files from your old cloud.
  3. Share folders with people who need access.
  4. Install desktop sync for folders you want synchronized automatically.
  5. Enable mobile auto-upload if you want photo backup.

Sync can propagate deletions and unwanted edits. Keep an independent versioned backup of important data; a synchronized folder alone is not that backup.

Communication

  1. Open Talk and test a direct message.
  2. Join any shared chat rooms your team uses.
  3. Install the compatible Talk mobile app if you need mobile notifications or calls.
  4. Connect Mail if you want NuQloud to act as your webmail client.

Mobile

  1. Install the compatible Talk app first for chat, calls, and mobile notifications.
  2. Sign in with your NuQloud server address and saved authentication file.
  3. Install the NuQloud PWA with Safari on iPhone or iPad, or Chrome on Android.
  4. Add the compatible Files app for photo uploads, file access, and uploads from your phone.

Groupware

  1. Import contacts if you are moving from another provider.
  2. Create or import calendars.
  3. Set up mobile calendar and contacts sync if needed.
  4. Create Deck boards for recurring tasks or projects.
  5. Try Notes for plain text and Markdown notes.

Decentralized Features

  1. Request initial publishing credits if needed.
  2. Register a name before publishing or using identity-based decentralized features.
  3. Try opening the Decentralized Apps area.
  4. If needed, publish a non-sensitive sample from Files after reviewing whether the selected mode is public or private.
  5. Confirm you understand the difference between cloud storage and decentralized publishing.
