Branding and Accessibility

NuQloud Branding is a managed design-token layer. It should not patch upstream core files or accept arbitrary administrator CSS or JavaScript.

Policy hierarchy

  1. The built-in administrator enables the branding scope and allowed user choices.
  2. An optional delegated NQ_Admin may narrow approved choices but cannot broaden or override administrator policy.
  3. A user selects from allowed System, Light, Dark, palette, and personal options.
  4. Native enforced-theme locks take precedence.

Accessibility requirements

Preserve high contrast, reduced motion, dyslexia-friendly settings, keyboard navigation, visible focus, semantic structure, and readable light/dark contrast. Branding consistency is not a reason to override an accessibility preference.

Compatibility

Use shared documented CSS variables for the common shell. Deep application styling should be narrowly scoped and tested against each supported Nextcloud major. If an adapter fails compatibility checks, disable that adapter instead of modifying core.
